Chris Tamer is from Dearborn Heights, Michigan and played for the Redford Royals before enrolling at the University of Michigan.  He played defense for Coach Red Berenson from 1990-1993.

During his time at Michigan, he had nineteen goals and fifty-nine assists for a total of seventy-eight career points, placing him twentieth on the all-time scoring list for Michigan defensemen.  He played in 169 games at Michigan, second amongst defensemen.  As one of Michigan’s toughest competitors, he also holds both the records for penalties and penalty minutes at Michigan with 218 penalties for 515 minutes.

After his time at the University of Michigan, Chris Tamer moved on to the National Hockey League.  He spent eleven years in the League with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and Atlanta Thrashers.  Since retiring from hockey, he has been involved with hockey training and strength and conditioning.
