Doug Philpott played for the Sarnia Sailor and Toronto Marlboros before attending the University of Michigan, where he played for Coach Vic Heyliger.  He played center and left wing from 1951-1954.

Nicknamed “Dink” and “Elbows” by his teammates, he is one of six Michigan players from the 1951-1952 NCAA Championship team to be selected as an All-American.  Doug Philpott graduated with a degree in Business Education.
