Edgar “Eddie” Kahn was born in Detroit, Michigan and played on the first hockey team at Michigan under Coach Joseph Barss. During his first year, the team only had nine members. He was an outstanding forward for two seasons (1922-1923 and 1923-1924) and was elected captain during his senior year. Eddie Kahn scored the first goal in Michigan Ice Hockey history on 12 January 1923 in a game against Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1924 and became a neurosurgeon. Dr. Eddie Kahn passed away 29 August 1985.
